HOW TO QUIT SMOKING USING LASER THERAPY

In the present world, laser treatments are available for everything, such as corrective eye surgery, dental whitening, hair removal and hair regrowth stimulation, tendency to bleed excessively, burns unsightly moles and warts, removes spider veins and reduces snoring. But now the laser companies are trying for laser treatment to stop smoking.

The laser treatment to stop smoking is quite similar to the use of acupuncture as an aid to quit nicotine. This is a half-hour session, in which pulses from a laser are applied to the smoker's ear lobe. These rays emit energy similar to that of a 60-watt light bulb.

This is based on the fact that the laser rays stimulate the brain to produce endorphins(natural pain killers). These endorphins are useful in reducing nicotine cravings and alleviate nicotine withdrawal symptoms for three days following the laser treatment to stop smoking. During this period of time, the smoker goes through the worst part of withdrawal, and the time till the effect of the laser treatment is subsided, the smoker has successfully stopped smoking.

The endorphins are then replaced by nicotine in the brain's nicotine receptors, so that they do not start the cigarette craving cycle. This technique also tries to maintain the balance between smoker’s physical and mental energies.

This treatment to stop smoking is not considered a medical treatment and so would not be covered by health insurance.
