Sleeve Resection: A sleeve resection is removal of part of the bronchus. Chemotherapy, uses drugs that can either kill cancer cells or preventing them from growing. Can be given in a variety of ways, as IV infusion and pill being more common.
Radiation Therapy: makes use of certain types of energy, or radiations that kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. These can be waves or particles like protons, electrons, x-rays and gamma rays. Can be given internally or externally.
Targeted drug therapy: Targeted therapies are newer cancer treatments that work by targeting specific abnormalities in cancer cells. Targeted therapy options for treating lung cancer include:
Clinical trials: Studies of new lung cancer treatment methods.
